Welcome to our family blog

We have moved from our life long home in Idaho. Our whole lives have been turned upside down, and we are feeling a little bit disconnected. This blog is to keep our friends and family updated on what is happening in our lives in Livingston. I have found this site to be very calming and gives me some perspective into my own life. I know that with the help of our Father in Heaven things will work out. He knows what we need. As long as we are faithful and live the Gospel, we will be okay. "Okay" might not be what we have known "okay" to be, so we are also learning about flexibility. Life is a journey, wherever it leads us will be great as long as we are together and do our best in all that we do.

Stillwaugh Family Picture by Dustin

Dustin drew this picture during church today. It is so sweet. I had to share it. Our family has changed a lot in the last couple of years. But in Dustin's mind it is still the same. I love it, and wish it were. Yes, I do realize that the kids are supposed to grow up and move away, but it happened too fast in some areas, and I maybe haven't accepted it all the way yet. I am a weak woman, after all!

Tristans Birthday Party

The boys had a couple of days off last month so we took a trip to Idaho. We got to see brothers, family and friends. It was a great trip! While we were there we celebrated Tristan's 12th birthday! He has now received the Aaronic Priesthood, and will begin passing the Sacrament! He is both excited and nervous. We are so proud of him! What a great young man he is growing up to be!! Tristan invited some of his very good Middleton friends to his party, as well as the family. He had a great time! Happy Birthday Tristan!!

Dustin's School Halloween Party

I think the pictures say it all!

2010 Salmon River Hunting Trip

The boys all went up the Salmon River for their annual hunting trip last week. They had a great time! Don, Detrik and Damon drove up from Boise, and Tom and Tristan came from Montana. It was a longer, windier drive than Tom expected I think. But they all made it safely, and came home very happy. This was Tristan's first hunt, and he was successful! He shot a 5x3 Mule Deer buck!! Only 1 shot too! What a hunter! Detrik shot a baby deer, but it is meat in the freezer, so who cares! And Damon shot a 4x4. I haven't seen any pictures of his yet, so have none to share! As soon as I get some I will post them. Tom caught an amazing Steelhead. It was a wild fish, so you can't keep them. He also caught a hatchery fish that he brought home. I hate fish, and it was actually really good! Dustin got stuck at home with mom for the week. We had a good time though. I made him go to the fabric store with me, that was the highlight of the weekend!! We also went and saw Secretariat, went to his last football game of the season, and stuff like that. It wasn't all torture for him!

Tom thinks that the tree in the picture was struck by lightning. He said the strike curled around and down to the ground.

Horses meet a new friend

The horses came in one night in October bearing new "piercings". I thought I had taught them better, but apparently not!! Pulling them out was not as hard as I had imagined. McCrae of course was the most sensitive, as always. I hope they learned their lesson, porcupines are not cats!!!

Fishing, more fishing..........

Tristan in his fishing gear. He is working on his fly fishing merit badge right now. I am so proud of my boys, and all that they do. They are amazing!
